We have two main blood test profiles for men but also offer the testosterone blood test alone.
We do recommend that you see our GP to help decide on which tests are required as you may need other routine tests such as a blood count or thyroid test.
In some cases patients may be on medication and require certain male hormone tests for monitoring purposes as advised by your specialist

Male Hormone Profile:
this provides an overall insight into the key reproductive male hormones.
Hormones can control a lot of our bodies functions such as our sexual development along with behavioural functions such as our mood.
There are many reasons you may be interested in this test:
You may want to check your fertility
You could be experiencing a decreased libido ( we recommend you see our doctor first)
You may feel you are losing hair or muscle mass which could be hormone related
You may simply want an overview of your reproductive hormones

It is important to note that the testosterone test which is included in this profile must be taken in the morning time before 10:00 a.m and you must be fasting for the 12 hours before to ensure accuracy of results.

2. Erectile dysfunction profile:
this is for older men who may have underlying disease causing their ED

In young men the biggest cause is stress and fear around performing due pressure based on previous experiences. or
The effects of medications such as anti-depressants
In older men it can related to decreasing testosterone level or
In some cases due to underlying conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
Occasionally there is a decrease in the signals from the brain
Or you may have had pelvic surgery which has affected the nerves or blood supply to the genitals

3. Testosterone level:
this is our recommended test for young men who have no risk factors for heart disease and where no organic cause for erectile dysfunction is likELy.
Checking the testosterone level alone can give a lot of confidence that the hormone levels are good and that any difficulties with intercourse are likely related to stress.
In some cases we may recommend checking your thyroid function also.
We refer many of our patients for Stress based reduction for ED which is very successful for both young and older men.
