TB Health Check for UK Visa Applications
Why Do I Need to be Screened?
TB testing with Chest Xray identifies the presence of lung TB which can be treated, preventing you from becoming ill and avoids passing the infection on to others.
If you are travelling from a Country where TB is Common or if you are planning to stay in the UK for a period of more than 6 months, you will need this compulsory screening.
What do I need to bring to my Clinic appointment?
Valid Identification which contains your photograph such as a Passport, National ID card, or Refugee Asylum Seeker Card.
A Photocopy of your identification
A Passport Photo
The Clinic fee can be paid either online at booking or by bank or credit card in the clinic.
Please note: You can organise your Chest X-ray with The Ulster Independent Hospital in Belfast or Alliance Medical in Hillsborough.
We need your booking information before we can send your chest Xray referral. At the Ulster independent Xray, appointment wait time for a chest X ray can be up to two days but you can also call them and see if there is an on-the -day appointment.
Alternatively at Alliance Medical, a walk in clinic operates allowing for same day X-Rays.
If you are travelling from outside of Belfast and would like to attend the Ulster independent for your Chest Xray, we advise booking your appointment with us for a date seven days in the future so that we can organise your Chest Xray for you on the same day.
How much does the TB Screening Cost?
For your appointment, you will pay a consultation fee alongside a fee for the Chest X-Ray.
The Consultation takes place in our clinic in Belfast city centre, and we then make a referral to another private Hospital to carry out the chest X-Ray.
The X-Ray is paid for in the X-Ray clinic and prices vary between clinics.
Once results are back and if negative we complete your Visa paperwork and then Liase with the Uk Government monthly.
Adult Medical Consultation £160
Child Medical Consultation £100
Please note children age 10 years and under do not require a chest Xray
If your x-ray results are normal, you will have completed the screening process; however, if there is something abnormal detected suggestive of TB you will need 3 sputum/spit tests.
If 3 sputum samples are required to test for TB there will be an additional cost of £220.
