This is a Home Blood Test.

This test detects the presence of IgA (Anti Tissue Transglutaminase) antibodies, associated with Coeliac Disease.

Coeliac disease is an autoimmune condition, where the proteins in gluten trigger a response from the immune system. People tend to be genetically predisposed to the condition. When gluten is taken in by the body an autoimmune reaction occurs and the immune system attacks the lining of the small intestine and causes inflammation. Symptoms include bloating, flatulence, diarrhoea and unexplained weight loss.

Test results are typically ready within 2-5 working days of receipt at the laboratory, and will be shared with patients via email. If you do not receive your results within this timeframe please contact our clinic. All test results remain confidential and are shared only with the patient.

If your results are abnormal, we will be in contact with you to recommend treatment and the appropriate course of action required. The cost of the written prescription is included in the overall cost of the test.
