| Services | TB Health Check for UK Visa
TB screening and chest X-ray for UK visa applications at our Belfast clinic, with results and paperwork completed by our doctors. Please Note: Chest Xray is done at a local Radiology clinic.

TB testing with Chest X-ray identifies the presence of lung TB which can be treated, preventing you from becoming ill and avoids passing the infection on to others.
If you are travelling from a country where TB is common or if you are planning to stay in the UK for a period of more than 6-months, you will need this compulsory screening.
Book a Visa TB appointment for the morning with one of our doctors.
We will then refer you, that afternoon (subject to availability), for a Chest X-ray in Belfast, at Alliance Medical, Holywood Road. They should contact you directly following referral. You must bring proof of ID to the X-ray appointment.
Results are back with our doctor within 7 working days.
If there are signs of TB we will book you in for 3 sputum (spit) samples over 3 days to look for TB (see associated costs).
These sputum tests can take 4 weeks to be completed.
Once all the results are back we can complete your paperwork and send you a copy and share with the UK Visa department.
Your appointment with Vitalis Health costs £130 and includes the consultation, physical examination and completion of paperwork.
The Chest X-ray is paid for directly with the X-ray clinic costing approximately £90.
Results:
If your X-ray results are normal, you will have completed the screening process and our doctor will complete and sign off your Visa paperwork; however, if there is something abnormal detected, suggestive of TB, you will need 3 sputum/spit tests.
If 3 sputum samples are required to test for TB there will be an additional cost of £220.
Please note, children age 10 years and under do not require a Chest X-ray.
The process for children aged 11 and over follows the same pathway as the adult consultation, including a physical examination, Chest X-ray referral and paperwork completion.
Please bring valid photo ID for your child along with a photocopy.
Children aged 10 and under do not require a Chest X-ray as part of their UK visa TB screening.
A physical examination and completion of all required paperwork is included in the appointment fee.
